About the Contest

Mёrge is an international script-to-screen competition organized under the patronage of DIRECTV, the largest satellite television provider in the USA. The contest is dedicated to highlighting multicultural experiences in the ever converging global environment. Special attention will be paid to scripts that explore the themes of interaction between cultures, immigration, assimilation in a foreign country, expatriate life, and other issues of particular interest to multicultural communities worldwide.

The scripts are accepted in the English and Russian languages. The winner will receive a prize of $5,000. The best script will be produced into a feature length motion picture. The best five scripts will be published into a book.
